Endometriosis Symptoms and Treatment

Endometriosis Symptoms and Treatment NottinghamWhat is Endometriosis?

This article highlights Endometriosis Symptoms & Treatment. Firstly, what is Endometriosis? Endometriosis is a medical condition. It occurs when the lining or tissue of the uterus, called the endometrium, grows in other places in the body. Tissue can grow in the fallopian tubes, ovaries, bowel and lining of the pelvis. Your menstrual cycle can be affected by this and can cause the area to become inflamed and painful. This can also affect the regulation of your menstrual cycle.

You should seek help from your GP if you experience any pain or have issues with your menstrual cycle.

Possible Symptoms of Endometriosis

The main symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain. It is often associated with your menstrual period. Some signs and symptoms of endometriosis can be painful periods, pelvic pain and cramping. Pelvic pain and cramping can begin before and continue into your period for several days.

Treat Endometriosis with Complementary Health

We have treated endometriosis in our pain management clinic using acupuncture and achieved a measure of success. However, we are unable to guarantee a successful outcome in all cases until more studies are carried out. Endometriosis can affect fertility which is why you should consult with your GP or Specialist for further information.

Can My Symptoms Change During Acupuncture Treatments?

If acupuncture treatments are working you will notice a change in your menstrual cycle. You may also notice a reduction in pain before or during your menstrual cycle. We always encourage you to consult with your GP or your specialist when you undertake acupuncture treatments so that endometriosis can be monitored.
The treatment using acupuncture for endometriosis can be treated in our pain management clinic. The treatment sessions can vary depending on how you and the endometriosis respond to acupuncture. We suggest making an appointment with our pain management acupuncture team. Treatments may be ongoing and we provide treatments within our pain management clinic for long term and chronic painful conditions at a discounted rate.

Acupuncture Treatment for Endometriosis Accredited by Specialist

Treatment Reviewed: Acupuncture
My Specialist has credited the results of my laparoscopy to my having had acupuncture.

It started with one simple email asking for information on how acupuncture could help me control endometriosis. Little did I know how amazing it would prove to be!!

Diagnosed in 2009, followed by 2 surgeries over the following 3 years, it was confirmed – the endometriosis was getting worse! The symptoms were returning 18 months later and as doctors weren’t listening. I decided to take control and investigate my other options. 18 sessions and 12 months on it was time for a fourth laparoscopy. The results were incredibly surprising. There was no endometriosis present and the cysts had burst. Plus there was very little scar tissue!
